Evaluation

Evaluation is where the rubber meets the road in education and training. In the design, or formative, phase, evaluation helps guide the design and development of instruction. After the program has been implemented, summative evaluation indicates if the training was worth doing.

We'll enjoy an overview of formative and summative evaluation, followed by a look at Donald Kirkpatrick's influential Four Levels of Evaluation.

Exercise

As you may have guessed, I'll now have you plan a formative evaluation for our in class exercise. This will involve a series of steps you decided upon and write down on a group piece of paper.
